Bacterial Cellulose x100000 Magnification (IMAGE)
Caption
A scanning electron micrograph captured x100,000 magnification - showing the random cellulose microfibril network produced by the University of Queensland bacterial cellulose model. The plant primary wall cellulose (i.e. in fruit and vegetables) are usually thinner and may have different microfibril geometries compared to the bacterial cellulose microfibrils, which are 10 times larger. However, bacterial produced cellulose has the same general features of cellulose deposition as plants.
