Hundreds of moths assemble in hollow tree (VIDEO)
Caption
Only a few species of butterflies and moths are known to gather in groups, the most famous example being the millions of monarchs that converge in Mexico each winter. But Florida Museum lepidopterist Andrei Sourakov discovered a previously unknown phenomenon: moths communally roosting in hollow trees. The moths seemed to be resting en masse, waiting for night to come.
