IMERG Video of Rainfall Over Hawaii (VIDEO)
Caption
Estimates of rainfall accompanying Tropical Storm Darby were produced using NASA's Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) data. GPM is the Global Precipitation Measurement mission core satellite, a joint mission between NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. NASA's IMERG calculated that the greatest rainfall total estimates between July 19 and 26 were located north of Oahu where 480 mm (18.9 inches) fell.
