Using calendar-dated tree rings, Charlotte Pearson and her colleagues created an annual resolution radiocarbon time series to shed new light on the long-running debate between radiocarbon and archaeological dating evidence for Thera. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 15, 2018, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by C.L. Pearson at University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and colleagues was titled, "Annual radiocarbon record indicates 16th century BCE date for the Thera eruption."
