Researchers with Columbia University, the Wildlife Conservation Society, the American Museum of Natural History, and Fundación AquaMarina used both molecular technology and satellite imagery to learn more about how oceanographic barriers shape populations of the franciscana dolphin, a rare cetacean occurring in the coastal waters of eastern South America.
