This infrared image of spotty cold cloud tops in Irwin (left) was taken from the AIRS instrument on NASA's Aqua satellite on Oct. 11 at 4:53 a.m. EDT. The purple areas indicate coldest cloud tops (-63F) and strongest convection, and heaviest rainfall. The powerful Hurricane Jova is seen to the right along the western Mexico coastline.
