Atomic-Scale Interface Engineering of Majorana Edge Modes in a 2D Magnet-Superconductor Hybrid Syste (IMAGE)
Caption
A single-crystal rhenium substrate induces an exotic form of superconductivity into a nano-scale iron island which exhibits a Majorana edge mode being protected against perturbations. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the July 26th, 2019, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by A. Palacio-Morales at University of Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany, and colleagues was titled, "Atomic-scale interface engineering of Majorana edge modes in a 2D magnet-superconductor hybrid system."
