3-D Reconstruction of a 320-Million-Year-Old Fossil Showing Digestive System in Blue (VIDEO)
Caption
The inner workings of a tiny fossil have been studied using X-ray microscopy, revealing evidence of the digestive system for the first time. Researchers led by Dr Imran Rahman of the University of Bristol, UK, analysed the unique fossil specimen, which is less than 3 mm in height, using high-energy X-rays at the Swiss Light Source in Switzerland.
