SION-19, a biologically derived MOF based on adenine was used to 'lock' Thymine (Thy) molecules in the channels through hydrogen bonding interactions between adenine and thymine. Upon irradiation, thymine molecules were dimerized into di-thymine (Thy<>Thy).
