Keeping the Immune System in Check After Organ Transplants (5 of 5) (VIDEO)
Caption
These are time lapse microscopy analyses of T cell motility in vitro. A human anti-Epstein-Barr virus T cell clone, labeled with a fluorescent probe, was mixed with Epstein-Barr virus-positive B cells and tracked over 20 min. One representative movie was recorded for each condition. This video relates to an article that appeared in the February 3, 2010, issue of Science Translational Medicine. The study, by Dr. Poirier of INSERM in Nantes, France, and colleagues was titled, "Inducing CTLA-4-Dependent Immune Regulation by Selective CD28 Blockade Promotes Regulatory T Cells in Organ Transplantation."
