Sea Level Change Related to Greenland Ice Melt (IMAGE)
Caption
This image shows the pattern of sea level change or 'fingerprint' resulting from one millimeter per year of Greenland ice melt derived from NASA GRACE measurements. The black circles show locations of the best historical water level records, which mostly fall in the blue areas that are less than one millimeter per year. As a result, these records underestimate global average sea level rise due to Greenland melt by about 25 percent.
