Guests and VIPs gather at the inauguration of the EVALSO (Enabling Virtual Access to Latin American Southern Observatories) project. This new communications infrastructure gives ESO’s Paranal Observatory, and Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s Cerro Armazones Observatory a high-capacity link to send observational data back to Europe.
