A research team from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim has succeeded in creating excitations in the magnetic order in a thin layer of hematite that can be moved through the layer in order to transmit information.
