Preschoolers As Mini-Scientists (VIDEO)
Caption
The work of Berkeley researcher Alison Gopnik shows that very young children’s learning and thinking is strikingly similar to much learning and thinking in science, as shown in experiments where children test hypotheses and make predictions in response to problems they’re presented with. This video relates to a paper that appeared in the September 28, 2012, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Alison Gopnik at University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, Calif., was titled, “Scientific Thinking in Young Children: Theoretical Advances, Empirical Research, and Policy Implications.”
