Lego Toppling (VIDEO)
Caption
Using lasers and Lego mini-figures, a BYU physics professor is studying time reversal to see how targeted sound vibrations might be useful in applications from medicine to the military to communications. In this acoustics lab demonstration, a Brigham Young University physics professor illustrates how lasers and sound waves are used to target one Lego figure on a table, sending sound vibrations that cause a single figure to fall while the other objects on the table remain upright.
