Mangrove Roots Model (VIDEO)

Particle trace posterior to a patch of mangrove-inspired roots' model in a vortex shedding cycle. A high-speed camera was used to display the bottom view of particle motions. The porous mangrove patch induces local flow resistance by increasing drag force and leads to a reduction in water velocity and shear stress that plays a key role in sediment transport and erosion.
