Jaguar Catshark (IMAGE) California Academy of Sciences Caption Bythaelurus giddingsi, or the "jaguar catshark," is a deep-sea shark found in the waters of the Galapagos. It is about a foot long with chocolate-brown coloration and pale spots. It is one of 137 new species described by the California Academy of Sciences in 2012.
