A humpback whale breaches off American Samoa, a study site in the South Pacific. One of the sources of samples in this study was skin shed by breaching whales. Image was taken by Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies under NOAA permit 774-1714 and the approval of the Government of American Samoa.
