This is an image of lymphatic vessels, made up of endothelial cells, play important roles in immunity, fluid balance and cancer metastasis. Williams and colleagues screened the entire human genome using an assay of cell migration to discover the genes and signaling networks that regulate the movement of lymphatic endothelial cells.
