The scanning Particle Size Magnifier, the first instrument for measuring aerosol particles as small as one nm in diameter. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 22, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Markku Kulmala at University of Helsinki in Helsinki, Finland, and colleagues was titled, “Direct Observations of Atmospheric Aerosol Nucleation.”
