Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that, at 24 hours after spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury, vacuoles reduced (black arrow). Cell death occurred in some neurons and nuclei dissolved. Lightly stained cytoplasm (red arrow) was also observed.
