This video shows calling male tungara frogs in three clips recorded in the field. Notice vocal sac movement and associated water ripples. This video relates to a paper that appeared in the 24 Jan., 2014, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by W. Halfwerk at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Ancón, Republic of Panama, and colleagues was titled, "Risky Ripples Allow Bats and Frogs to Eavesdrop on a Multisensory Sexual Display."
