Axons were transfected with (A) wild-type β3-tubulin, (B) R262 mutant β3-tubulin, and (C) R262 mutant β3-tubulin + D325R mutant kinesin. Note that while the mutant tubulin prevented axonal growth, adding the mutant kinesin effectively combatted this effect.
