Artistic rendering of skull discovered in 1952 near Hofmeyr, South Africa. This image relates to article that appeared in the Jan. 12, 2007, issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. F.E. Grine and colleagues of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, N.Y., was titled "Late Pleistocene Human Skull from Hofmeyr, South Africa, and Modern Human Origins."
