This is a confocal laser scanning microscope images showing the concentration of oppositely charged molecules, where negatively-charged microgels are denoted by red circles and positively-charged microgels are denoted by blue circles. Green fluorescence originates from negatively-charged dye molecules and red fluorescence originates from positively-charged dye molecules.
