Continent-Wide Look at Vole Populations (5 of 9) (IMAGE)
Caption
Cyclic outbreaks of common voles are an important feature of many agricultural landscapes in Europe. As with other grass eating vole species in Europe, the amplitude of these has declined. This image relates to a paper that appeared in 5 April, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Thomas Cornulier at the University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, UK, and colleagues was titled, "Europe-Wide Dampening of Population Cycles in Keystone Herbivores."
