Checkered Beetle and Venus Flytrap (IMAGE) North Carolina State University Caption This is a checkered beetle on a Venus flytrap blossom. A recent study from NC State University finds that the checkered beetle is one of several insects that plays an important role in pollinating Venus flytraps. The study also found that Venus flytraps do not prey on these pollinator species. Credit Elsa Youngsteadt Usage Restrictions Photo credit must be given.
