The movie shows the formation of columns of disk material (in blue) accreting onto the protostar (the central sphere) due to flaring activity close to the disk surface (in red). Upper panel: the system is observed edge on. Lower panels: the system is observed pole on. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 01 November 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by G. Revet at Institute of Applied Physics in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, and colleagues was titled, "Laboratory unraveling of matter accretion in young stars."
