A human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and chemotherapy may offer an effective combination strategy against advanced cervical cancer, results from a small clinical trial and study in mice show. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the April 13, 2016 issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by M.J. Welters at Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, Netherlands, and colleagues was titled, "Vaccination during myeloid cell depletion by cancer chemotherapy fosters robust T cell responses."
