Brazilian farmers examine their soybean crop. Under the Soy Moratorium, major trading companies do not purchase soybeans produced in the Brazilian Amazon on areas that were deforested after July 2008. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jan. 23, 2015, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by H.K. Gibbs at University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc., and colleagues was titled, "Brazil's Soy Moratorium."
