This image shows the mastodon rib with the embedded point near the end of the bone. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Oct. 21, 2011, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Dr. Michael R. Waters of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and colleagues, was titled, "Pre-Clovis Mastodon Hunting 13,800 Years Ago at the Manis Site, Washington."
