It is the natural substrate in which a country's export basket evolves and can help explain the different fates followed by different countries. This image relates to article that appeared in the July 27, 2007, issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. César A. Hidalgo and colleagues of the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind., was titled "The Product Space Conditions the Development of Nations."
