The Fossil Wing of a 125-Million-Year-Old Bird (IMAGE)
Caption
The fossil wing of a 125-million-year-old bird is pictured. A study of the fossil, led by Guillermo Navalón, a Ph.D. student at the University of Bristol, UK, together with a team of Spanish palaeontologists and Dr. Luis M. Chiappe of the Natural History Museum, Los Angeles County, suggests that some of the most ancient birds were capable of performing aerodynamic feats in a manner similar to many living birds.
