The California Air Resources Board has enacted more stringent policies against diesel emissions than the rest of the U.S., significantly reducing air pollution and death in California's most vulnerable communities and beyond. One rule that has been particularly effective is requiring that older diesel engines from heavy duty vehicles be retrofit to meet new standards
