These are Anasazi ruins at Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Peace systems also are reflected in the archaeological record. From AD 700, different subgroups of the prehistoric Anasazi people lived side-by-side without making war for some 500 years. This image relates to a Review that appeared in the May 18, 2012, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The Review, by Douglas P. Fry at Åbo Akademi University in Vasa, Finland, was titled, "Life Without War."
