Hallet Lake (IMAGE)
Caption
Hallet Lake, near the crest of the Chugach Mountain Range in south-central Alaska. Productivity in the lake is sensitive to summer temperature in the region. Researchers used sediment cores from Hallet Lake and others to construct a 2,000-year climate record for the Arctic.
