Oxygen-vacancy-mediated catalysis boosts direct methanation of biomass

Researchers proposed interfacial oxygen-vacancy (Vo)-mediated catalysis over Ru/TiO2 for the direct methanation of lignocellulosic biomass at temperatures below 200 °C and with a selectivity above 95%.
