Researchers at Washington University have developed a new way to transform human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) into nucleus pulposus cells, which are the chief component of intervertebral discs. This image shows day 36 of the differentiation process, as the hiPSCs are cultured with nucleus pulposus differentiation media.
