David Strayer, a University of Utah psychology professor, with a driving simulator that was part of a major new study he conducted for the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. The study found that, contrary to what many people believe, motorists are seriously distracted and put themselves and others at risk when they use hands-free devices to make cell phone calls, use social media or send texts or e-mails while driving.
