Environmental health scientist Laura Vandenberg at UMass Amherst and colleagues say their recent study shows that a mixture of chemicals used in unconvential oil and gas extraction can affect the long-term health of the mouse mammary gland, even after low level exposures in the womb. These chemicals are poorly studied but have widespread human exposure, she says.
