Regenstrief Institute Investigators Are Analyzing Impact of Guiding Patients through Advance Care (IMAGE)
Caption
A team, led by Regenstrief Institute researcher Alexia Torke, M.D., is exploring if guidance in filling out medical treatment options on a POLST (short for Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment) form (available under different names in all 50 states) makes a measurable difference in a person's care preferences being respected. The National Institute on Aging awarded $3.5 million over five years for the study.
