McFaddin Beach after Hurricane Laura

UT is helping the Texas General Land Office locate sand for projects to restore beaches along the Texas coast, which is under threat from rising sea levels and tropical storms. Despite suffering damage after Hurricane Laura in 2020, the restored sand dunes at McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge remained intact and allowed the beach ecosystem to recover after the storm.
