Cancer cells project multiple extensions on their surface (visualized in red) to gain motility. PRL-3 (visualized in green) enhances this process by inducing activation of another potent cancer-causing gene, EGFR, thereby giving cancer cells the dangerous ability to rapidly spread to different organs.
