Brain Development Image Progression (VIDEO)
Caption
This image progression shows the brain development from birth to five years of one participant from Dr. Weili Lin's pilot study, the MAP Brain Imaging Study. The left and center images are anatomical MR images that show how different structures in the brain grow during these first few years. In contrast, the image on the right shows the growth of cortical thickness, a quantitative measure of the thickness of cerebral cortex. This image shows the interesting way that cortical thickness varies during the first five years of life.
