Schizophrenia Model Shows Stunted Growth of Neurons (IMAGE)
Caption
This image shows the stunted growth of neuronal branches (green) in the brains of the schizophrenia mouse model (B), as compared to healthy controls (A). In this research, scientists used a chemical compound to reverse stunted neuronal growth, which in turned reversed memory deficits--a core feature of schizophrenia for which there is no treatment.
