Oleg Pestovsky, (left), Andreja Bakac (seated) and Hajem Bataineh (right), researchers at the US Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory, have proved the widely used Fenton reaction can take different paths and form different reaction intermediates depending on the pH of the reaction environment. Pestovsky and Bakac are both scientists at Ames Laboratory. Bataineh is a graduate student at Iowa State University's Department of Chemistry.
