Tracking Bigeye Tuna in the NW Atlantic

This image depicts pelagic longline vessel Captain Scott Drabinowicz and crew preparing to deploy a tag from the deck of the FV Eagle Eye II. Researchers and partner longline tuna fishing crews deployed 21 pop-up satellite archival tags on adult bigeye tuna between 2008 and 2010 in the northwest Atlantic. Fish in good condition were fitted with tags and returned to the sea.
