UF Health Researchers Develop Unique Model for Studying ALS (IMAGE)

A group of UF Health researchers have developed a mouse model that will facilitate the study of a neurodegenerative brain disease that causes amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. The group includes Dr. Laura P.W. Ranum, director of the UF Center for NeuroGenetics and a professor in the UF College of Medicine department of molecular genetics and microbiology; post-doctoral associate Dr. Yuanjing Liu; and graduate student Amrutha Pattamatta.
