Gut Microbes Alter Characteristics of Norovirus Infection (IMAGE)
Caption
A new study led by Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis reveals details about how gut microbes interact with norovirus infection in the mouse gut. Gut microbes can tamp down or boost the severity of norovirus infection based on where along the intestine the virus takes hold. The research opens up new ways of thinking about potential therapies for this intestinal infection. Shown are norovirus particles.
