$60 Million to Fund Study of Genetics Underlying Common Diseases (IMAGE)

The McDonnell Genome Institute at Washington University joins three other institutions in forming the Centers for Common Disease Genomics network, funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute, of the National Institutes of Health. The partner institutions are the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, the Baylor College of Medicine and the New York Genome Center. Grants to all four institutions establishing the CCDG network total $240 million, of which Washington University will receive $60 million.
